🍀How to Manage Multiple Interest - Issue 208
Hi, I am JOE and I write on "Mindful Productivity & Cerebral Happiness". My endeavour is to share life lessons, some thoughts, quotes & links to articles/podcasts/books, I discover during the week.
Hey Friends, if you’ve not subscribed till now and want to become a patron of this newsletter then you can do right away before diving into this week’s ‘SUNDAY REATZO’.
So let's dive into this week 🗞️ newsletter. I was pondering upon this question ❓ 👇
Q- Why settle for one path when you can conquer many?. Embrace the Chaos, own your ambition, and let the world cause you.
The first think which comes to my mind is - 📝 “The Power of Prioritization”. It's absolutely necessary to know - “How to Choose What Truly Matters and this is where we falters to most. Let me just put an anology here to understand this dialogue a bit more realistically.
Imagine this: - You're standing in front of a buffet where all oyour favorite dishes. You want to try everything, but your plate is small. What do you pick?
This is life with limited time. What we have to do is to create a hierarchy of interests, like I did in mylife space, ranking what's most precious. See yourself what topped the list for you and what ends up taking a small place. This clarity will help you to truly identify the priorities.
I suggest that take 10 minutes today to list your passions and rank them. What would top your list?
Few Quotes comes to my mind -
“It is not enough to have a good mind; the main thing is to use it well.”
(A sharp mind can conquer multiple domains; it’s all about how you wield it.)
- RENÉ DESCARTES
Once you have listed your priorities then the next step is this👇 -
1. ⏰✨ Master time management without losing joy -
Time management isn’t about working like a robot. Think of it as budgeting for your dreams.
I use Google Calendar and time blocking methodology to optimise the time available to me more my numerous interests.
2.🍳 Cooking Up Skills Without Adding Time -
When I started college, I had to cook my meals—terrifying, right?. But I turned a chore into a craft. Instead of rushing through it, I learned knife skills, explored spices, and now I am self dependent to a great extent. The most important Lesson I took from my this experience is - “Find joy in routine tasks and level them up.”.
For me life’s little moments are opportunities to learn. I firmly believes in this -👇
“An unexamined life is not worth living.”
(Dive into every interest. Examining multiple paths leads to a life worth living.)
- SOCRATES
3.🪞🐿️ Avoiding the Trap of Shiny Object Syndrome
There are people who hop from interest to interest like a squirrel chasing shiny nuts including me, however I have realized the trick is: “focus on what aligns with your core goals and save other dreams for later”.
My mantra? I can do it all—just not all at once.
It's equally important to find out that - “What shiny object is distracting you today?
“The measure of intelligence is in the ability to change.”
(Adapting and thriving across multiple passions isn’t chaos; it’s brilliance.)
- ALBERT EINSTEIN
4. 🌟⚔️The Polymath's Path of Embracing Struggle and Success
I want you to picture yourself as if : - “you’re climbing a steep mountain”.
At first, it’s exciting, but soon your legs ache, and doubts creep in. That’s the valley of despair, where most people quit. I’ve been there with hobbies like writing and other interests. But pushing through taught me that every struggle is a proof that you’re growing provided your identified priority are spot on.
When I first started written or started gilf, many people howled. Today? They admire. So whatever kind of mountain are you climbing? Keep going!
“Do not be afraid of greatness. No one, absolutely no one is born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.”
(Pursue your passions unapologetically; greatness lies in embracing every path.)
- Joe
5.📱💔 How Social Media Jealousy Can Crush Your Creativity
Scrolling Instagram can feel like wandering into a museum of greatness, everyone seems a master. We look at our skills and feel like a less desirable. But I would say you reframe it: instead of envy, let their success inspire me.
My advice? Celebrate others' creativity and use it to fuel your journey.
Next time you scroll, ask yourself: what’s one thing I can create today?
“Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does.”
(Balance your choices; every interest you pursue defines your freedom.)
- JEAN-PAUL SARTRE
6. 🎨⚖️ Balancing Life Like a Renaissance Pro
Think of Da Vinci—he painted, studied anatomy, and invented machines. Was he overwhelmed?
Maybe, but he balanced exploration with focus. Try it: Mix passion with practicality—what is one skill you can fit into your current schedule? Just think about it.
